keep on planting

We continue to plant through the month of February to take advantage of the rains. The ground is soft and our trowels work easily through the soil.

For every plant planted, 100 more need to be. We have places around the slough so riddled with invasive species, they crowd each other out. I search out natives hiding within, and every occasionally, I find one. Sometimes it's a weedy native like the Epilobium. Sometimes it's a little annual lupine. Either way, I get so excited when I find it; hanging by a thread of hope that some day it will be joined by others.
